Our Founder and Ceo:
Ndeye Mbow Diokhane
“Every human being is gifted with a mission, whether they know it or not. My mission is to help, assist and build an environment that can facilitate growth and the well being of the people”
Her close friends call her Mother Theresa of Africa but she takes herself as a simple, humble, and pious woman with strong moral values and ethics. A woman with big dreams and hopes.
Her name is Sokhna Ndeye Mbow Diokhane, born and raised in Kaffrine, a small town in Senegal. Sokhna Ndeye Mbow Diokhane, despite the hardship of having walked a few miles every day to go to school, managed to graduate from elementary school top of her class. Unfortunately, during that time, the only secondary school available was in Dakar the capital of Senegal. A young woman was not allowed to travel that far alone. Sokhna Ndeye Mbow was obliged to stay back in her small town with her parents where her mother taught her how to sew and make clothes.

A while after, she got married and finally moved to Dakar where she opened her clothing store.
During the day many women would stop by her store to talk about their daily life issues, children would stop by, panhandling to help their mother feed the rest of the family. Some women would use their assets for money to pay for their children to go to school. Some would cry about not having a meal for days.
Sokhna Ndeye Mbow felt the urgency to break that vicious cycle of poverty, of illiteracy, of suffering. She realized that only education will empower people, but how could she educate with the little she had?
Although people were suffering immensely because of life issues, Sokhna Ndeye Mbow could see their hope, courage, and determination.
In 1999 she created an association called Diapale Daan Dole (3D) meaning 'The Helping Hands'. She made small groups of women and taught them the art of sewing. She showed them how to dye fabrics to get certain colors. She assisted them in selling and investing to buy fabrics and make clothes while saving their profits. She gave the community her clothing store to use it and coach them and followed them through their success.

Sokhna Ndeye Mbow didn’t stop there, she made sure that every family in her community had a proper meal, her home was an open pantry for everyone.
Today at 81 years old Sokhna Ndeye Mbow has never stopped working for those in need. She recently earned her degree in Marketing. Her 4 children are all grown and well established abroad, she also has 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. When asked to take a break now because of her age Sokhna Ndeye Mbow replied” I will never rest or enjoy a meal knowing that the house next door is in need. Every day I must help someone assure a brighter tomorrow for their children. I don’t need beautiful clothes or gold or a beautiful house”
As the community grew and the circle broadened, Sokhna Ndeye Mbow saw the importance of achieving her mission more than ever. It wasn't enough, donating food or clothes. They needed a school. A school to help the poor. To help them get an education. To help them succeed in life. Which is why we ask, will you help us achieve our dream?
